Description
 
a sub-family of true weevils
Background to Family
 
Nine species in the genus Magdalis, which feed in cells beneath the bark of trees. Individual species use a range of either broadleaved (particularly rosaceous) or coniferous hosts. Unlike in the Cossoninae, adults live outside the dead wood.
