Description	a sub-family of true weevils
Background to Family	Seven species, of which 4 are native, with diverse habits. The larvae of the osier pest, Cryptorhynchus lapathi, mainly bore the stems of willows (Salix). The diminutive members of Acalles are either associated with the dead twigs of dicot trees and shrubs, or mine duckweeds (A. lemnae).
