The two British species are Dieckmanniellus (Nanophyes) gracilis, which produces stem galls in water purslane (Lythrum portula), and Nanophyes marmoratus, which develops in the fruits of purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria).

New material added from Morris, M.G., 1990 (RES Handbooks, Vol. 5, Part 16. Orthocerous weevils. Coleoptera: Curculionoidea (Nemonychidae, Anthribidae, Urodontidae, Attelabidae and Apionidae)).; The Nanophyidae was previously treated as a sub-family of the Apionidae.;
