a sub-family of the Oecophoridae
Background to Family

Most species have larvae that feed on dead vegetable matter, or the fungi associated with its decay. Some genera also feed on dry animal matter, and they may be pests in stored products. A few others feed on mosses, lichens, or vascular plants. Larvae mainly bore into their food source, although some construct portable cases.
