Background to Family
 
The members of the Glyphipteriginae (Glyphipterix) mainly mine the stems, or feed on the seeds, of grasses (Poaceae), sedges (Cyperaceae) and rushes (Juncaceae); in contrast, G. equitella mines the stems and leaves of stonecrops (Sedum).
