a family of 'micro-moths'
Background to Family
 
The majority of species range from specialists to generalists on umbellifers (Apiaceae). The larvae feed on spun seed-heads, in stems, in leaf-mines or within silken retreats, sometimes changing habit as they grow. Some are gregarious. Epermenia insecurella feeds on bastard-toadflax (Thesium humifusum, Santalaceae).
