Background to Family
 
The 4 generally uncommon natives, and one transitory resident, are foliage feeders and have varied food plant choices. These range from Meganola strigula, on Quercus robur, to M.albula on rosaceous herbs; Nola cucullatella on rosaceous trees; N.confusalis on numerous broadleaved trees; and N. aerugula on leguminous herbs.
