a sub-family of the Noctuidae
Background to Family
 
The sole, resident species is the nut-tree tussock (Colocasia coryli). The caterpillar feeds on the foliage of numerous broadleaved trees, mainly hazel (Corylus avellana) and downy birch (Betula pubescens). It conceals itself in spun leaves when not feeding.
