Background to Family	Seven aphids with parthenogenetic, live-bearing females. Hosts are trees in the Betulaceae and Fagaceae, while some non-native species occur on orchids in protected cultivation. Ant-attendance is common.

Hormaphis has been moved into the Hormaphidinae (Aphididae).;
