Description	a family of aphids
Background to Family	More than 50, generally slender and delicate aphids, restricted to one or a few hosts. They complete the life cycle in one year and without host alternation. Females are parthenogenetic and live-bearing. The family occurs mainly on the aerial parts of dicot trees and shrubs, especially Fagaceae and Betulaceae. It is also found on the Fabaceae, as well as the monocot Poaceae, Cyperaceae and Juncaceae.

Notes	Data currently unassessed by a specialist for changes in nomenclature, new species to the British list, new interactions, errors in original sources, and misspellings.; The Callaphididae is now treated as a sub-family (Calaphinae) of the Aphididae (Blackman & Eastop, 2000). Certain genera have been moved to the sub-family Drepanosiphinae (Drepanosiphum, Phyllaphis).;
