Description
a sub-family of the Noctuidae
Background to Family
The members of this small sub-family feed on the foliage of broadleaved trees. They are particularly associated with oaks (Quercus), but also occur on birches (Betula) and other species. The oak nycteoline, Nycteola revayana, overwinters as an adult.
