Background to Family
 
A dozen species with annual life cycles and parthenogenetic, live-bearing females. Mindarus occurs on coniferous trees, Phloeomyzus on Populus, and Anoecia (Anoeciinae) uses Cornus and grasses (roots) as the primary and secondary hosts, respectively. Neanoecia and Paranoecia are associated with Poaceae and Cyperaceae, respectively.

Data currently unassessed by a specialist for changes in nomenclature, new species to the British list, new interactions, errors in original sources, and misspellings.; The Mindaridae is now treated as a sub-family (Mindarinae) of the Aphididae (Blackman & Eastop, 1994). Certain genera have been moved to their own sub-families in the Aphididae: Phloeomyzus (Phloeomyzinae), and Anoecia, Neanoecia and Paranoecia (Anoeciina;
